Cross
Roads Search and Rescue has made a commitment to assist the community by
providing trained, certified, mission ready volunteer dog/handler teams
to the community and those in need. We work in conjunction with law
enforcement agencies to bring about a successful conclusion to the
search. This is our commitment to our community and the guiding force
behind Cross Roads Search and Rescue. We are trained to work in urban
and rural situations.
Our teams are on call 24 hours a day seven days a week, 365 days a year
to assist the police or other agencies who request our services. We are
not bound by any city, county or state boundaries.
We are members of the
National Association for Search and Rescue (NASAR), The North American
Search Dog Network, (NASDN), and Canine Search and Recovery (CSAR).
Teams (dog and its owner-handler) are tested and
must pass strict national certification standards before being
allowed to respond to a call out. All members are trained in
first aid, CPR, search protocol, first aid for the dogs, crime
scene preservation, wilderness survival, and hazmat awareness.
Members have received National Certification in
NASAR’s SAR Tech II which covers land navigation, man tracking,
field first aid and rope utilization in search and rescue work.
Their canine partners receive certification through NASAR’s
Canine SARTech III in the discipline of tracking and trailing.
